Yahoo Mail App Launches New Shopping and Travel Features to Navigate the Holidays with Ease

Yahoo Mail traffic increases nearly 40  percent1 during the holidays as inboxes filled with brand promotions, travel confirmations, party invitations and holiday well wishes. It’s no surprise, there is an increase in stress levels as a result2. To help people manage this influx and stay on top of their inboxes, Yahoo Mail has launched new mobile app features for managing all of their shopping and travel plans this holiday season.

According to a survey conducted by Yahoo Mail in partnership with Censuswide, 91 percent of people do their holiday shopping online, with at least half of them shopping almost entirely online this year3. This means email becomes increasingly necessary to help house and organize purchases, track packages, and find discounts – not to mention keep track of holiday travel. 

Signed, Sealed, and Monitor until it’s Delivered: How many emails does it take until a package gets delivered? Between order confirmations, receipts, shipping updates, and delivery notices, online shoppers need tools to stay organized, especially since 95 percent of people routinely track their shipments up until they reach their doorstep*. To help stay on top of all gift purchases this season, the new Yahoo Mail mobile app experience now has a one-tap filter that organizes and categorizes purchase history and package status in one place, for easy reference. Every transaction and return can be easily organized, while providing the ability to track packages in real time so users know exactly when to expect purchases to arrive. 

Unlock Promotions and Offers: From discounts to BOGO deals, Yahoo Mail has created a way for shoppers to keep track of offers from their favorite brands and retailers directly from their inbox. A carousel of deals, specials, coupon codes and sale notifications will populate at the top of emails - a huge benefit to the more than 75 percent of people who use email to get deals and discount codes for their holiday shopping and beyond*. 

The Inbox Itinerary: While travel peaks during this time of year, so does the need for staying on top of flight itineraries. Two out of five people rely on their email as the main tool for organizing their holiday travel*, and a third have even put off travel altogether due to stress increase related to a disorganized mailbox*. Yahoo Mail is hoping to make managing travel simpler, rolling out a new feature to check-in to flights, copy confirmation codes, track upcoming flights, and manage schedules with the tap of a button. 

These new shopping and travel features follow the introduction of a new Yahoo Mail mobile app experience rolling out this month. With AI-powered capabilities, a messaging-first interface, and first-of-its-kind gamified features, the new experience is designed for users to stay organized, and on top of their inboxes like never before. Yahoo Mail can now summarize messages, suggest next steps, help users compose emails, and enable quick actions directly from the inbox view, making it easier than ever to sort, categorize, and manage their messages.

All of these features started rolling out this month as part of the new Yahoo Mail app experience for iOS in the US.
